New website

We suppose everybody is going to ask - why a new website? The answer is simple - the new website runs on a new platform that allows members to maintain the website themselves. That means, no webmaster anymore - we will have several webmasters and webmistresses and by doing so, we hope to have more - and more up to date content on the many club activities.

No special software or tools are needed to be able to update the website. If you are reading this, you already have all the tools needed to fully utilize the new hosting facilities. It does not matter if you are running Windows, Mac OS X or Linux and if you are using Internet Explorer, Firefox, Konqueror, Safari or any other browser - it all works.

There will also be a members-only section that will only be accessible to members that have logged in. Once the site is offically up, all paid-up members will have a userid for login purposes.

The current website (www.larcweb.us) has grown dramatically in the last year or so and we have a lot of content to move over - so please be patient while we work on that.

LARC website committee.

Thanks Ed (KI0RU) for building www.LARCWeb.us. It demonstrated capability and is responsible for interesting and bringing additional people out to meetings and joining the club.

Ed is now working on setting up Echolink on the club's repeaters. It will be capable of decoding DTMF for node selection.
